KCTV: Saint Luke's Doctor Discusses the Importance of Cervical Cancer Screenings
According to the American Cancer Association, cases of cervical cancer have decreased by more than half from the mid-1970s to the mid-2000s. But from 2012 to 2019, rates have actually increased for women ages 30 to 44 each year.
Dr. Jennifer Bernard, a board certified pediatrician and internal medicine physician with Saint Luke's Primary Care–Southridge, sat down with KCTV to break down the importance of regular cervical cancer screenings and possible symptoms to look out for.
