KSHB: Saint Luke's Leads Groundbreaking AFib Treatment
Atrial Fibrillation, or Afib, is the most common type of heart arrhythmia and the number of people diagnosed with AFib is increasing both in the United States and globally.
Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute cardiologists were the first in Kansas and Missouri to participate in a clinical trial for a novel treatment of AFib known as "pulsed field ablation."
Dr. Sanjaya Gupta spoke to KSHB about this groundbreaking treatment, as well as the second Saint Luke's patient to undergo pulsed field ablation.
